Ray is a Durham native and has been married to Karen for 47 years and they have one daughter, Sarah. He was previously employed with IBM for over 38 years and has been with Hudson Funeral Home for over 34 years. Ray is a former member of the Bethesda Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Board of Directors for several years. He is a member and Treasurer of the Bethesda Ruritan Club. Ray is a Ruritan Forever and recipient of Ruritan’s Tom Downing Fellow Award. He is a 2016 graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College Funeral Program.

Tommy Hudson was a 3rd generation funeral director and embalmer for over 50 years. He was a Durham native and a 1970 graduate of Durham High School. He attended Fork Union Military Academy, was a graduate of Indiana College of Mortuary Science, and also attended the National Foundation of Funeral Service. He was active in civic organizations such as the Triangle Shrine Club and Oak Grove Masonic Lodge, and a former member of the Durham City Council and the NC Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association. He was married to Mary Carter Hudson for 45 years and has a daughter, Brooke Hudson.

Mary has over 30 years of experience in funeral service. She is a graduate of East Carolina University and attended The National Foundation of Funeral Directors. She is a NC Licensed Funeral Director and also is a licensed Preneed Agent. She has been married to Tom Hudson for 37 years.

Chris is a graduate of Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service and Mortuary Science. He has been in the funeral profession for over 20 years.

Caleb has been in the funeral profession for 15 years. A lifelong resident of the Bethesda community, he is a 2018 graduate of Fayetteville Technical College’s Funeral Director Program and completed a funeral director apprenticeship through the N.C. Board of Funeral Service. He is married to Hannah, and is a member of
Apex Baptist Church and Bethesda Ruritan Club.

Grace joined the staff of Hudson Funeral Home in May 2025. Relocating from the Asheville area, she resides in Chapel Hill, where she was a student at UNC-CH. She is set to graduate in 2026 from Fayetteville Tech with a degree in Funeral Service.

Kenneth joined the staff at Hudson Funeral Home after retiring from John Umstead Hospital with over 30 years of service. Kenneth currently resides in the Stem/Culbreth community in Granville County with his wife, Linda. They have two sons, Kevin and Josh and two grandsons.

Jerrit is a native of Granville County and a graduate of Vance-Granville Community College, where he was an honor student. He joined the Hudson team in February 2021, after attending Appalachian State University, where he majored in Biology. He has prior experience cleaning and restoring historical cemeteries in Granville County.

Debbie has been with Hudson Funeral Home since May 2021. She was married to Steve, who was a valued member of the Hudson staff, for 50 years until his passing in February 2021. Together, they have a daughter, Anna, and son, John. She is a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Jeffery is a Durham native currently residing in Granville County. He is retired from Verizon after 30 years of service. Jeffery is a member of Bullock’s United Methodist Church of Creedmoor. He enjoys serving in his community and is a member of the Stem Ruritan Club and the Bull City Street Rod Association.

Steve was a Durham native and married to Deborah of 50 years. They have two children, John and Anna. He attended Campbell College and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He retired from Petroleum Marketing. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Past Master of Oak Grove Masonic Lodge #750, Member of Amran Shrine Temple, and Member of the Board of Governors for the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. Steve was employed at Hudson Funeral Home for over 15 years.
