William Louis Iglehart

DURHAM- Mr. William Louis Iglehart, 86, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019.

Mr. Iglehart was born August 31, 1932 to William and Rose Iglehart in Oahu, HI. As a child he was a member of the Stratford Avenue gang, a lifelong childhood friendship. He was dedicated to serving others and was the gentlest and kindest man. Mr. Iglehart was a superior officer with the NYPD and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved his family and influenced his son and grandson to start their own financial business, Family Legacy Financial Solutions. Mr. Iglehart was a Sherlock Holmes buff and enjoyed stamp and coin collecting.

Mr. Iglehart is preceded in death by his parents, William and Rose Iglehart; sister, Nancy Handelsman.

Mr. Iglehart is survived by his wife, Ruby Basson Iglehart; sons, Scott Iglehart, Todd Iglehart (Jessica); daughters, Robin Iglehart Stubbolo, Holly Iglehart Ricketts; sister, Jeannie Riegler; grandchildren, Joshua Stubbolo (Jennifer), Maura Stubbolo, Samuel Iglehart (fiancé, Katelyn), Aidan Ricketts, Ciaran Ricketts, Jacob Iglehart, Ethan Iglehart, Katelyn Iglehart, Sarah Iglehart.

A funeral service will be held at Judea Reform Synagogue, Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rabbi Franken. Following the service a military burial will take place at The National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Duke Alzheimer’s Family Support Group.
