Ruth Rowe Wynne

DURHAM- Mrs. Ruth Rowe Wynne, 86, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019.

Mrs. Wynne was born February 20, 1933 to Frank and Goldie Rowe in Durham, NC. Ruth was a member of Lowes Grove Baptist Church for many years. She was a person that people went to for advice and guidance, she was always smiling. Ruth loved traveling, playing bridge, and was an avid reader. Mrs. Wynne retired from Liggett and Myers after 25 years. She loved to cook for her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

Mrs. Wynne is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Goldie Rowe; brothers, Clyde Rowe, Felix Rowe, Bill Rowe, and Claude Rowe; sisters, Alice Hardee and Hazel Cook.

Mrs. Wynne is survived by her husband, W.D. “Decer” Wynne; son, Gary Wynne (Karen) of Durham, NC; daughters, Denisa Buck (Hal) of Durham, NC, and Susan Hailes (Rob) of Greensboro, NC; sister, Clara Merritt of Carrboro, NC; grandchildren, David Buck (Michelle) of Chesapeake, VA, Jennifer Duke (Chris) of Greensboro, NC, Jeremy Wynne of Durham, NC, and Shane Buck (Amy) of Wake Forest, NC; great-grandchildren, Ashley Buck, Tyller Buck, Jaxon Duke, Camron Duke, Caden Duke, Jossalyn Duke, Avary Buck, and Aiden Buck; great great-grandchildren, Haley Reina, Ariana Reina, and Aaden Reina.

Pallbearers will be David Buck, Jeremy Wynne, Shane Buck, Chris Duke, Tyller Buck and Jaxon Duke.

A visitation will be held Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Lowes Grove Baptist Church from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at the Lowes Grove Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Woody Freeze and Rev. Forrest Gale. Burial will be at Lowes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the following earthly angels for their loving care giving to our mom: Paula Daye, Erica Lightbrown Smith, and Tiwana Lightbrown.
