DURHAM Mrs. Rosa Johnson Meredith, 85, of Durham, died on Friday, August 25, 2017.Mrs. Meredith was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Matthew Adkins Johnson and Rosa Lucas Johnson. She retired from Watts Hospital as a nurse. She attended Faith Worship Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Meredith; brother, Manley Johnson; sisters, Beulah Wilkins, Roberta Hall and Anna Mayse.She is survived by her three sons, Pastor Matthew Meredith and wife, Pat, Bruce Meredith and Thomas Meredith and wife, Carolyn; two daughters, Deborah Sarmiento and husband, Renato and Sherry Earp and husband, Larry; sister, Eva McLean and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Morris Westbrook will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gerald Singletary, Carl Parkstone, Brandon Sparrow, J.R. McClure, James Carr and Justin Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Harris and Jonathan Meredith.The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Pastor Matt Meredith, 4009 Fiesta Drive, Durham, NC 27703.
