Kathleen Jones MacLaren

DURHAM, NC – Kathleen (Kathy) Jones MacLaren 61, died Sunday, September 30, 2018 at home in Durham, NC following an extended illness.
Mrs. MacLaren was born August 30, 1957 in Louisville, KY. She grew up in Lake City, FL. She spent 20 years in Charlotte, NC before relocating to Durham, NC in 2016. She graduated from Lake City Academy and later obtained a degree in nursing from Lake City Community College. She worked as a registered nurse prior to graduating from the University of South Florida with a degree in Business Administration. Mrs. MacLaren worked for 27 years with Bank of America corporation. She left as a Sr. Vice President and was well respected by her peers.
Mrs. MacLaren is survived by her husband of 35 years, Donald MacLaren; son Bryan (Brittany) MacLaren of Cary, NC and sister Marian (Richard) Powell of Lake City, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Lois Jones of Lake City, FL.
A graveside service for the family will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens with Rev. Steve Rimmer officiating. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 at Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church in Charlotte with Dr. Gus Succop officiating.
