Dawn and Jennifer, I am so very sorry for your loss. Losing anyone in your family is heartbreaking but there is just something different about losing a mother. Let God get you through as only He can. Take comfort in knowing others care and understand. I’ll be praying for you both as you go through this very difficult time.

Dawn, you and Jennifer are in our thoughts and prayers. I remember all the holiday impromptu eating contests. I swear she had a hollow leg! To be so small she could eat with the best of them. Brenda was always so kind and generous with family and friends. I remember a lot of fishing and cards at the beach and always laughing while family was together. She had a great sense of humor and made the best chocolate pie that I have ever eaten. She touched all the lives that she met.She will truly be missed. Love, Carson York and Family

Dear Dawn and Jennifer, I was so surprised and saddened by the loss of your mom and grandmother. I had no idea that she was not well. I hope that the wonderful memories of the past with Christmas Eve hustle and bustle of good food, laughing and lots of stories help get you through this sad time. Mike and Bruce were always thought of as brothers and now with Brenda there with them, they can talk about how good Brenda was for fixing the chocolate pie she made for Bruce's birthday. Luckily, someone else very special took that tradition over until Bruce died. Everything that family fixed was first class and memorable. We will never forget the fishing stories, work stories and always homemade blackberry wine on Christmas Eve as grand-daddy Ellis was the first stop. I wish you Blessings and love as you go through this time. Warm hugs and much love, Jill Ellis[ .

Dawn and Jennifer I am so sorry to hear about about your mother passing. I thought so much of her and work closely with her for some many years. She was a co-worker and a friend. I know I have not not seen her since she retired but I did think about her. I know she will be happy to be with your daddy! Praying for comfort for the both of you.

Linda and I are saddened by the passing of such a professional, hardworking, courteous, sweet lady. The BB&T drive thru was always a pleasure, and always like going to see family. We missed her when she retired, and we are remembering now, just how sweet she was. May God hold her family in the palm of his hand and comfort them. Rest in Peace, Brenda.

I always saw Brenda's smiling face for years at BBT South Square, She was a joy to know and she worked hard. Wish there were more of her around. My prayers go out to the family

Condolences to Brenda's family from the Moore family. Both Sherry and I and our boys always enjoyed our visits with Mike and Brenda over the years. I will always remember Brenda as a caring, thoughtful person and always with a great sense of humor. She showed a zest for life and never seemed to be down. I tried and failed to win our "Thanksgiving eating contests" each year. What a fun lady, I will not forget her or "Big Mike". They were quite a couple. Dawn, please let us know if we can do anything for you guys. I'll donate to Duke Hospice in Brenda's name. God Bless, John.
