DURHAM- Mrs. Annie Wyvonia James Slaughter, 86, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at Duke Regional Hospital.Mrs. Slaughter was born November 29, 1932 to Johnny and Minnie James in Person County, NC. She will be remembered by her everlasting smile. Mrs. Slaughter was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.Mrs. Slaughter is preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Minnie James; brother, Jesse James; sisters, Erma Bowen, Rosa Crabtree.Mrs. Slaughter is survived by her husband James Richard Slaughter; daughter, Teresa Woods (Gary) of Rougemont; sons, Darrell Slaughter (Pam) of Timberlake, NC, Gary Slaughter of Durham, NC, Calvin Slaughter (Jamie) of Durham, NC; brother, Billy James (Linda) of Rougemont, NC; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Brian, Kristin, Kelly, Jenna, Erin, Emma, Callie, Colton, Bryson; great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Brendon, Chad, Alaina, Landon, Mason.A visitation will be held one-hour prior Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Rick Finley. Pallbearers will be Allen White, John Pickens, TW Baker, Ray Ellis, John Wilson, Pete Gaydou, and Ricky Oakley. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.Flowers are acceptable.
