Zoey (Zachary) Flye

Zoey was born March 25, 2002, in Chapel Hill, NC to Dan and Shelly Flye.

She enjoyed playing online games with friends and winning strategy board games against parents. Zoey loved all animals, most especially her dog Max adopted from the SPCA and she was a positive influence to her friends. Zoey worked for Amazon delivering packages; please thank your Amazon drivers with treats whenever possible as it rapidly became apparent how brutally taxing the job can be. She enjoyed a trip to Japan with high school friends earlier this year and returned with a new sense of appreciation for different cultures.

Zoey was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Robert and Lorraine Flye; and maternal grandfather, Lyle Thomas.

Zoey is survived by parents, Dan and Shelly Flye of Raleigh; maternal grandparents, Rosalee Thomas (husband James Wilson, Jr.) of Raleigh; Uncles, Clark Thomas (wife Betty) of Durham, Wade Thomas (wife Debbie) of Raleigh, and Rob Flye (wife Lisa) of Seattle, WA; Cousins, Walt Hill of Raleigh, Gretchen Thomas and Cody Thomas, both of Denver, CO, Linnea Holz of Munich, Germany, Marisa Bickeboeller of Seattle, WA, Connie Shames (husband Jeff) of Melbourne Beach, FL, and many loving family members and dear friends.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel in Durham at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park in Raleigh.  Attire for this service is very casual with jeans being fine.
