William "Billy" Allen, Jr.

William “Billy” Allen, Jr., 61, of Durham, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025. He was born in Durham, NC on February 9, 1964 to William Allen, Sr. and Sandy Allen.

Mr. Allen was a longtime member of American Legion Post #7, where he enjoyed cooking for their events. Billy loved country cooking and always looked forward to a great country breakfast. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Billy was a wonderful man with a Heart of Gold. He loved to help elderly people, making sure their needs were met. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother and wonderful uncle.

Billy is preceded in death by his father and nephew, LCpl. Nathan Bizzell.

He is survived by his loving mother, Sandy Allen; sister, Dawn Bizzell who lovingly got on his nerves and her husband Steve; niece, Tiffany who he cherished and her husband Ryan; great nephew, Liam and great niece, Tatum Stephenson; he always looked forward to holidays and their birthdays; his sidekick dog, Jake and other loving family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Billy’s name to American Legion Post #7, 406 E. Trinity Ave., Durham, NC 27701.

A graveside service will be held a 2 p.m. Tuesday May 20, 2025 at South Granville Memorial Gardens, 3040 Old North Carolina 75, Stem, NC 27581.  Officiating will be Reverend Paul Williams.
