Wanda Tunstall Faulkner

Wanda T. Faulkner, 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Chapel Hill on April 8, 2026, after a lengthy illness.

Wanda was born on May 17, 1951, in Durham, North Carolina. She graduated from Durham High School in 1969 and began a dedicated career with Avis Car Rental, where she worked faithfully for 44 years until her retirement.

Wanda was known for her kind heart and selfless spirit. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She held a special place in her heart for children, especially her nieces and nephews, whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene Tunstall and Mildred Tunstall.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Richard Faulkner; her sister, Patricia Hunter of High Point; her stepson, Richard Faulkner Jr. of Clinton, NC; her stepdaughter, Kimberly Pagoda of Fairfax, VA; her niece, Holly Ricketts (Tyler) of Climax, NC; and her great-nieces and nephew, Laney, Collings, and Marshall Ricketts.

A funeral service will be held at Hudson Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 14, at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Markham Memorial Gardens in Chapel Hill.
