Virginia E. Bennett

Mrs. Virginia E. Bennett, 93, of Durham passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Hock Family Pavilion. Virginia was born August 27, 1930, in Durham to the late William M. Elliott and Pearl R. Elliott.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Garland Bennett; son, Donald Bennett; grandson, Damon Bennett; sisters, Ailene McGriff, and Peggy Thomason.

She is survived by her sister, Edna E. Davis, Bobbie E. Dampier (Lawrence) of Oxford, NC; nephew Michael L. Dampier (Kim) of Oxford, NC and B.J. Perez of Canton, TX. Her daughter-in-law Deborah Bennett; grandchildren, Dara Bennett, and Robert Bennett; great grandson, Zachery Bennett.

Virginia was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and active in the Joy Club as long as her health permitted.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 1104 Milton Road, Durham, NC 27712 or Hock Family Pavilion 4023 N. Roxboro Street, Durham, NC 27704.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

Officiating will be Reverend Marc Francis.
