Vickie Paulette Lewis

Vickie P Lewis, 75 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 18^th, 2024. Vickie was proceeded in death by her father Claiborne Ellis, her mother Mary Elizabeth Ellis, her brother Kenneth Ellis and one nephew Timothy Ellis Jr.

Vickie is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rodney Lewis; sons, Kevin Lewis (Holly), Mark Lewis (Jaime), grandsons Chase Summers, Cadan Lewis, Colin Lewis and Chance Lewis. Brothers, Timothy Ellis and Larry Ellis. Brother-in-law Wayne Lewis (Teresa), sister in law Pylliss Ellis. Nieces and nephews, Renee Kelly (Tim), Todd Lewis (Cathy), Cameron Lewis (Jessica), Matt Lewis (Mandy), Kenneth Ellis, Brian Ellis (Kristy), Stephanie Day (Tim), Jill Hertzog, Robin Hertzog (Billy). She also leaves behind many lifelong friends who will miss her tremendously..

Vickie, was born in Durham, NC and graduated from Southern High School. She retired from Kroger after over 30 years of service. Vickie then went to work with the Durham County schools as a bus monitor working with children with disabilities. Once she retired from the school system, she obtained her CNA and went to work at The Forest at Duke as a companion where she assisted many elderly clients with daily needs. Vickie was an eternal care giver and treated each one of them as if they were her family.

Vickie was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Durham. Her faith in God was evident in everything she did, her grace for those who were going through trouble times was proof of that, she desired for everyone she knew to know God and have a personal relationship with Him.

Vickie was loved deeply by anyone who spent time with her. She was the kind of friend who would come to be with you and sit by your side offering support and love through any of life situations.

First and foremost, Vickie was a Mom, she was caring, supportive and selfless when it come to her children. She always put her children’s needs above her own. She was a devoted wife to Rodney.

She was a superwoman and is irreplaceable……

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Faith Baptist Church located at 3321 Cheek Rd, Durham N.C.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made in her honor to Faith Baptist Church.
