Tommy Laverne Watkins

Tommy Laverne Watkins, 76, of Durham, NC, passed away on August 11, 2026, at Pruitt Health. Mr. Watkins was born January 5, 1950, in Durham County to the late Lonnie and Virginia Young Watkins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Homer, Haywood and Billy Watkins.

He is survived by his sons, Tommy Watkins and Henry Watkins, both of Durham; sister Janice Peacock of Durham; grandchildren, Heather, Alicia, Brandon and Brendon Watkins; nieces Tiffany and April Peacock, as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Tommy enjoyed tending to his yard and listening to traditional country music. He especially loved spending time with his family and working alongside his brother in the concession business.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to view Mr. Watkins and sign his register book during regular business hours at Hudson Funeral Home.
