Mrs. Tamsie Green Lynch, 81, passed away on her birthday, June 18th, 2026.

Mrs. Lynch was born in Thomasville, NC to the late Jesse Joseph Green and Nell Curlee Green. She lived in Thomasville until she graduated from Thomasville High School at the age of 16. After she attended High Point University, Tamsie worked in the orthopedic ward at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh and was a caring nurse. Later, she formed her own company, Tamsie’s Design and Furnishings. She carried several large North Carolina furniture companies to Japan to expand their markets. Her husband Jack was CEO and President of Telerent Leasing Corporation, where she worked with him for several years in design and national sales prior to retiring.

Jack and Tamsie established an endowed scholarship plan at Duke University in the athletic department. They were avid Iron Dukes and enjoyed attending basketball and football games, as well as other Duke events.

Tamsie was a talented cook and artist. She enjoyed hosting events with Jack at the home they once shared in Carolina Beach and putting those skills to use in service of her family, church, friends, and Duke community.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lynch was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Jack Lynch, her sister, Jan Matlock, and her daughter, Deborah Stalvey.

Mrs. Lynch is survived by her brother, Frank Green, and 6 children: Sunday McLean (and partner, Rich), Heather Black (and husband, Jamie), Mal McLean (and fiancé, Beth), Mallorie Lynch, Greg Lynch (and spouse, Sandy), and Kurt Lynch. The family has also been blessed with many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held.
