Zebulon

Stephanie Rae Jones Dickens, 37, of Zebulon, North Carolina passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, April 21, 2024.  She was born in Winston-Salem, NC on December 26, 1986.

Stephanie, in her later years, chiefly and truly was a God-fearing strong woman who tried her best at all times to please God in the best way she knew how alongside her family. While growing up she also enjoyed participating in activities such as drawing, singing and writing. She participated in various talent shows throughout her younger years and participated in a talent show at the Carolina Theater in Durham, NC. Her favorite color was pink. While in the sixth grade, during an assignment, Stephanie wrote a poem based upon her father and mother.  It was so impressive that her teacher nominated her as recipient for the International Library of Poetry without our knowledge. Her writing was selected to be published in “Rainstorms and Rainbows”, a hardback poetry book, amongst other award-winning young poetry writers. The poem was entitled “Separated”.

In 2005, Stephanie graduated from Broughton High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, receiving an Honorary Scholar Medal.  After graduation, she attended North Carolina Central University. In December 2009, Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Family and Consumer Science with Concentration in Childhood Development and Family Relations.

Stephanie is survived by her husband, Wellington Delano Dickens, III, whom she married in August of 2015; her five beautiful children, Sean, Wellington (DJ), Zoe, Leah and Jonah; her mother, Angela Meashey and step-father Kenneth Meashey; father, Ernest Ray Jones; brother, Warren Bethea Jones; mother-in-law, Sheila Dickens; Grand mother-in-law, Carrie Williams; brothers-in-law, Jeremy Dickens and Isaiah Dickens and numerous other loving family members and friends.
