Sharron B. Hill

In the early hours of the morning of Monday, May 1st, 2023, Elizabeth Sharron B. Hill, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away in her home at the age of 65.

Sharron was born October 13, 1957, to the late Oscar and Elizabeth Blackwood in Carrboro, NC.  She married at a young age and was a hard worker, often working multiple jobs to support what she loved most, her family.  Sharron had a passion for reading and cooking and, if you knew her, you knew that she had a gift for hospitality.  Sharron was always willing to help and would stop at nothing, often exuberating a stubborn streak and a willingness to speak her mind.  Overall, she was known for her kind and compassionate spirit.  What she loved more than absolutely anything was spending time with her 4 beautiful grandchildren who knew her only as "granny".  They were truly her pride and joy and she adored every moment with them.

Sharron is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Faye Crabtree.  She is survived by her husband, David; her 2 children, Michael Hill and Karla Stutts (husband Derek); 4 grandchildren, Kaileigh Hill, Miller, Jackson and Maelyn Stutts; her sisters Kay Holloway and Hope Stephenson; her brother Randy Blackwood and many nieces and nephews.

Knowing Sharron quite well, she was never one for dull moments.  While we shed some tears in remembrance of her life, we hope to also share many laughs.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 3712 Cheek Rd., Durham, NC.  

Officiating will be Pastor Keith Barreto.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the charity of your choice in Sharron's name.  

Sharron had always said that when she moved on from this world, she wanted a party with hot dogs and hamburgers to celebrate her life.  The family invites you to their home to join in on the celebration following the service.
