Ruth Woodlief Ferrell of Morrisville passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, at her home.
She was born in Granville County on August 25, 1933, to the late William Enoch and Ola Medlin Woodlief. She retired from American Tobacco Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Otis Ferrell; son-in-law, Johnnie Ferrell; sisters, Inez Arnold, Helen Arnold, and Geneva Burnette; brothers, Bill and Raymond Woodlief.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Ferrell of Durham and son, Earl (Pat) Ferrell of Morrisville; sisters, Emma Clevenger, Dorothy Beasley, and Heddie Hall; grandchildren, Angie (John) Ferguson of Wake Forest, Timmy Ferrell of Durham, Amy (Stephen) Ybarra of Youngsville, and Ashley (Chris) Holder of Durham; great-grandchildren, Mattie Ferguson, Gracie Ferguson, Haley Ferrell, Jack Ybarra, Katie Ferguson, Abby Ybarra, McKenzie Holder, and Maci Holder. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
A heartfelt thank you to Duke Hospice and to her very caring and loving caregivers, Connie Christie and Alexia Hunt of Providing Loving Care.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham. The Reverend Phillip Adams will officiate.
