Ruth Duke Rigsbee

DURHAM Mrs. Ruth Duke Rigsbee, 80, of Durham, died on Thursday, April 11, 2013.Mrs. Rigsbee was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late William Bush Duke and Geneva Ellis Duke. She was a homemaker and made everyone feel at home when they were at Goose’s house. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tonya Bryant and great-granddaughter, Hayley Bryant and brother, Harold Duke.She is survived by her husband, Calvin Rigsbee; daughter, Rhonda Blalock Worley (Ricky) of Orange County and Jan M. Markham of Durham; sisters, Annie Riley of Durham, Juanita Latta of Person County; two granddaughters, Lauren Markham, Megan Clayton; great-grandson, Kameron Bryant and several nieces and a nephew.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Hugh O’Shields will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Flowers are acceptable.
