Ruth Jenkins Davis

MORRISVILLE- Ms. Ruth Jenkins Davis, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Wake Medical Center.
Ms. Davis was born January 2, 1936 to the late Jimmy and Lillie Jenkins in Durham. She was a machine operator at Lufkin Rule Company in Apex, NC for 28 years and later co-owner at Davis Barbeque in Morrisville for 10 years. Ms. Davis was a lifelong member at Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church. She raised 4 sons by herself and was a wonderful loving mother and always sacrificed for her sons. Ms. Davis enjoyed shopping and going on trips to the mountains. She cherished her time visiting family and friends in the community and cooking for family gatherings and holidays. Ms. Davis will be remembered as a strong loving Christian woman who always put others first.
Ms. Davis is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Lillie Jenkins, brother, James Jenkins.
Ms. Davis is survived by her sons, Kenny Davis of Morrisville, Doug Davis (Dee) of Durham, Glenn Davis of Morrisville and Charles Davis of Louisburg; grandchildren, Brandon Davis of Montana, Mandy Simpson (Nick) of Cary, Joanna Davis of Smithfield and Madison Davis of Louisburg; great grandchildren, Noah Simpson and Maddox Loesekann.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church. A visitation will be held an hour prior from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn Davis. Pallbearers will be Kenny Davis, Doug Davis, Glenn Davis, Charles Davis, Tony Barber, and Roger Earley. Honorary pallbearer will be Johnny Nelms. Burial will follow at Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
