Rosa LaNelle Ferrell Inscoe

DURHAM- Mrs. Rosa LaNelle Ferrell Inscoe affectionally known as “Mama Nelle”, 93, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Inscoe was born October 28, 1926 to the late Excell and Gillie Ferrell in Durham, NC. She was married to the late Tom Inscoe for 60 years where they founded Tom Inscoe Wholesale Meats in Durham. Mrs. Inscoe was a lifelong member of Lowes Grove Baptist Church. She was a member of Ruth Bible Sunday School Class. Mrs. Inscoe was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Inscoe is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Tom Inscoe; son, Mike Inscoe; brothers, Lowell Ferrell, Delma Ferrell, E.O. Ferrell, John Ferrell, Buck Ferrell and Richard Ferrell; sisters, Wynonna Anderson, Pauline May and Clara Brands.

Mrs. Inscoe is survived by her son, Ray Inscoe (Joanie) of Durham; daughter, Linda Grissom of Durham; daughter-in-law, Paulette Inscoe of Durham; grandchildren, Wendy Inscoe, Mike Inscoe, Jr., Audrie Inscoe Johnson (Chris), Heather Grissom (Miles), Tara Grissom Worley (Chris); great grandchildren, Dustin Allen, Morgan Allen, Atlas Andrews, Paxton Johnson, Sophia Worley, Avery Inscoe, Logan Inscoe, Blake Inscoe.

A graveside service will be held at Lowes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
