DURHAM- Robert Leslie Ellis, 96, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Robert a widower retired in 1987 as a North Carolina School Teacher. Robert was born December 10, 1917 and the last remaining child of Charlie Ellis and Mamie Scoggins. He joined the Army in 1940 and served in WWII in Panama. Robert is survived by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles Kelly presiding.
