Robert Epps “Bobby” Holder, Jr.

DURHAM Mr. Robert “Bobby” Epps Holder, Jr., 72, of Durham, died on Monday, March 20, 2017.Mr. Holder was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Robert Epps Holder Sr. and Betty Mae Tilley Holder. He served in the U.S. Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was a produce salesman at the Farmer’s Market in Raleigh. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Everyone who met him loved him. He loved watching sports and playing with his great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Holder Pridgen.He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janice Deans Holder; two daughters, Donna Holder McClure (Mike Sr.) of Durham and Stephanie Holder Barker (Tracy) of Creedmoor; grandchildren, Mike McClure, Jr., Hunter McClure, TJ Barker, Justin Barker, Chance McClure and Miranda Barker; great-grandchildren, Branden, Brayden, Katie and Gideon.Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Wesley Holder will officiate. Burial will be in the Hopson Family Cemetery on Broach Road. Pallbearers will be Mike McClure, Jr., TJ Barker, Justin Barker, Hunter McClure, Chance McClure and Barry Turner.The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m., before the service at the funeral home.
