Renetha Butters Shick

Mrs. Renetha Mae Butters Shick (Renee), 83, passed away March 18, 2024.

Renetha was born September 3, 1940, in Brockway, PA to the late Frank and Emma Carlson Butters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Delbert Butters and Dale Butters. 

Renee was a faithful member of Grove Park Chapel. She was also a leader for over 40 years in the Christian Women’s Club and served with the Gideons for over 17 years. There are many other ministry areas that Renee served in.

Mrs. Shick is survived by her husband Paul Shick; sons, Kevin Shick (Jennifer) and David Shick (Lisa), daughter, Paula Zuber (Rob); grandchildren, Alyssa King (Clayton), Brittany Charnley (Michael), Brooke Cespedes (Anthony), Michael Zuber (Michaela), Kelly Zuber, Erika Sparkman (Chase); great-grandchildren, Myla King, Makenna King, Vera Charnley, and Cole Cespedes; as well as other loving family members and friends.

A celebration of Renee’s life will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Grove Park Chapel in Durham with a visitation held an hour prior from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Dale Brooks. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

Serving as Pallbearers will be James Singer, Thomas Eakes, Cliff Detweiler, Gary McLean, Anthony Cespedes, Chase Sparkman, and Michael Charnley. Honorary Pallbearer will be Clayton King.
