Rebecca Lee Johnson “Becky” Ragan

Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” Lee Johnson Ragan, age 90, passed away on January 2, 2022.

Becky was born on August 8, 1931, a daughter of the late Dwight Wellons and Lyda Johnson, Sr. Mrs. Ragan was a former member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Becky worked at Gorman and Grace Baptist Church preschools. As a teacher, she loved nurturing and educating children. She loved to go shopping and was always on the go. Becky enjoyed time with her family and loved them dearly. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ragan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph E. Ragan; son-in-law, James C. Pittman; brothers, Dwight Wellons Johnson, Jr., Warner Tyson Johnson, and Gerald Wayne Johnson; and sister, Barbara Johnson Brock.

Mrs. Ragan is survived by her son, Donald W. Ragan (Jymie); daughter, Jo Anne Pittman; grandchildren, Joseph Wayne Pittman, Amy Meagher (Shawn), and Allison Gentry (David); and great-grandchildren, Nathan Meagher, Megan Meagher, and Kaylee Gentry.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Robert Johnson, Mike Johnson, Joseph Pittman, Ron Christie, Cameron Christie, and Randy Hamlett.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Turnbough, Joey Pittman, and Donald Ragan. The family asks for those in attendance to wear a mask at the cemetery.
