Ray Perry Guthrie, Jr.

DURHAM- Mr. Ray Perry Guthrie, Jr., 67, passed away at home on Sunday, March 14, 2021.

Mr. Guthrie was born on January 15, 1954 to the late Ray and Dorothy Mae Guthrie in Durham, NC. Ray served as a Deputy Sheriff for Durham County. He was a big sports fan, especially a fan of Duke basketball and Indianapolis Colts football. Ray was a beach bum and loved going to the beach every weekend, he was always tan. He loved to sit in the sun and bird watch. Ray enjoyed watching Western movies, traveling, and spending time outdoors. He was always doing handy work. Ray loved life and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Guthrie is survived by his sons, Travis, Jordan, and Michael Jones; daughters, Kalin, Amber, and Tiffany Jones; and his sister, Grace Guthrie.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
