Rachel Pugh Hedrick

DURHAM- Ms. Rachel Pugh Hedrick, 82, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019.
Ms. Hedrick was born April 29, 1937 to Swann and Daisy Pugh in Danville, VA. She worked as a stock clerk for over 15 years and retired in 1992. Rachel loved traveling to the mountains. She collected angel figurines and enjoyed watching CSI and Cops. Rachel will be remembered as a loving woman who never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have known her.
Ms. Hedrick is preceded in death by her parents, Swann and Daisy Pugh; husband, James C. Hedrick; daughter, Vickie Dillon; also, several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Gary Hedrick; daughter, Carol Hedrick Schirmer (Michael); grandchildren, Jamie Dillon (Lindsey), Phillip Dillon, Gary Hedrick, Kenneth “Dean” Hedrick, and Candice Schirmer; and other loving family members. Rachel is also survived by her loving dog JoJo.
A graveside service will be held Monday, July 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Hugh O’Shields.
