Peggy Smith Lloyd

Peggy Smith Lloyd, 77, passed away, November 26, 2021, at her home in Durham.

Mrs. Lloyd was born August 18, 1944 to the late Jesse and Minnie Lassiter Smith in Henderson, North Carolina.  She retired from Duke Hospital after 43 years of service.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the beach, shopping, and liked to fish with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Todd Carroll; brothers, Jesse Smith, Frank Smith, Ray Smith and J. T. Smith.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Billy W. Lloyd, Sr.; sons, Billy W. Lloyd, Jr. of the home, Chris Lloyd (Michelle) of Perry Hall, Maryland; grandchildren, Josh Carroll (Alia), Sarah Carroll Dunlap (Colin), Ashley Rice (Michael), Theo Lloyd and Christopher Lloyd; and 3 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 1:00 pm at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.  Officiating will be Pastor Michael Keaton.

Pallbearers will be Larry Mangum, Christopher Lloyd, Bo Rigsbee, Rick Smith, Victor Snipes and Tommy Smith.
