Peggy Joyce Hines

DURHAM- Mrs. Peggy Joyce Hines, 80, died at her home Saturday, October 12, 2019 after declining health.
Mrs. Hines was born September 8, 1939 in Jones Co., NC to the late Albert Amos Mitchell and Pearl Carter Mitchell. She retired from GE. Mrs. Hines was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Hillsborough, NC. She taught children’s church and Ebenezer Baptist Church and Ridgecrest Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Hines worked many years in the Carrington Middle School cafeteria and she owned Romans Roller Rink in Hillsborough, NC.
Mrs. Hines is survived by her husband, Oscar Hines, Jr.; son, Roman Keith Hines, Sr.; brother, Albert Mitchell, Jr.; sister, Kathleen Aldridge; grandson, Roman Keith Hines, Jr.
A funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will start at 6:00 p.m. followed by a service at 7:00 p.m. Following the service family will continue to visit with friends. Officiating will be Pastor Joe Price.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Banks Family Cemetery in Comfort, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family to assist with expenses.
