Paul Edward Herndon

Paul Edward Herndon, 90, of Durham, N.C., peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023.  He was born in Durham, N.C. at Watts Hospital to the late Theodore and Arelia Herndon on August 13, 1932.

Mr. Herndon proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over 5 years.  He married the love of his life Lillian “Sally” Barton on December 10, 1955.  Paul was the owner of Herndon Restaurant and Equipment, where he enjoyed servicing the many restaurants and venue throughout the Triangle.

Paul was a member at Guess Road Baptist Church for many years.  He loved to bass fish, hunt, and most of all spend time at the lake with his family.  Paul passed on his vast knowledge of refrigeration to his children.  He was a great entrepreneur and always put his customers first.  Paul will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will deeply missed by his family, friends and community.

Mr. Herndon is survived by his loving wife Lillian “Sally” Herndon; son, Mark Herndon (Angie); daughters, Pam Herndon, Becky Herndon, Diane Adcock, Kim Herndon Bowen (Dennis) and Paige Herndon; grandchildren, Melissa, Andrea, Meredith, and Blake; great grandchildren, Makayla, Logan, Landon, Payton, and Austin and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers will be James Gooch, Billy White, Dale Ellis, Clyde Glass, Todd MacGregor, and Blake Pittman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Stephenson and Tim Stephenson.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Hudson Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Hugh O'Shields and Rod King, the Director of Ridgecrest Outdoor Ministries.
