Paul Harding Harris, Jr.

Paul Harding Harris, Jr. 79, of Durham passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at Duke Regional Hospital. Mr. Harris was born on August 10, 1946, in Roxboro, NC to the late Paul Harding Harris, Sr. and Ethel Lunsford Harris.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Brenda Barnes Harris; son, Will Harris of Fuqua Varina, NC; daughter, Laura H. Smith and husband Steve of Kings Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Tucker Smith and wife Cassie, Sidney Schell and husband Drew and Hayden Harris; great grandchildren, Evelyn Smith and Austin Collins; brother, Tim Harris and wife Jenny; pets Sampson and Daisey,

Mr. Harris deeply loved his family. He proudly served in the United States Navy, including three years in Vietnam. Following his military service, he retired from the Environmental Protection Agency after many years of dedicated work. Later, he continued to stay active by working as a parts delivery person with Southern Car Quest. Mr. Harris was a plainspoken man who enjoyed collecting knives and various tools.

A visitation will be held on Saturday November 15, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel.

Officiating will be Reverend Dale Brooks.
