Otha "James" Williams

Otha “James” Williams, 88, born April 10, 1938, in Granville County, NC to the late Otha Hunter and Lizzie Evans Williams, passed away June 30, 2026, at his home.

In addition to his parents, James is predeceased by his sister Annie Mae Fox and her husband Anderson, brothers-in-law, Robert Allen and Hal Forsythe; sister-in-law, Geraldine Hall.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Alice Kay Allen Williams, daughters, Brenda Lugar and husband Robert of Virginia, Rhonda Hagan and husband Darren of Durham, and Tina Cozart and husband Chris of Creedmoor; grandchildren, Jason Lugar (Heather), Kristen Freeman (Drew) and Jonathan Hagan (Jessica); great grandchildren, Avery Lugar, Kinley Freeman, Judson Lugar, Abel Freeman and Jade Wilson; sisters-in-law, Deborah Gayle Dye (Rodney), Carolyn Forsythe, Audrey Allen; and brother-in-law, Donald Allen, along with many other nieces, nephews and special friends.

James retired from IBM after more than 25 years of service. He was a member of The Triangle Shrine Club and Amran Shriners. He attended Bible Baptist Church when his health allowed.

A visitation will be held on Monday July 6, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home with the funeral following at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel.

Officiating will be Reverend Greg Allison and Reverend Jimmy Hall.

Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jason Lugar, Jonathan Hagan, Drew Freeman, Rodney Dye, Charlie Kearney and Jamie Livingston.

Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Harris, Judson Lugar, Abel Freeman and Todd “Porky” Garner.

Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
