Marie Smith MacRae

TIMBERLAKE- Mrs. Joyce “Marie” Smith MacRae, 75, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020.

Mrs. MacRae was born on January 23, 1945 to Theodore and Georgie Smith in Durham, NC. She loved QVC and shopping. Marie was a very giving person and loved her grandkids and family greatly. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. MacRae was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Georgie Smith, and brother, Bobby Smith. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Thomas H. MacRae of Timberlake, NC; sons, Dwayne Ferrell (Pam) of Hurdle Mills, NC, and Roy Ferrell of Timberlake, NC; daughter, Nerissa F. DesChamps (Rudy) of Oxford, NC; brothers, Ronnie Smith of Creedmoor, NC, and Donnie Smith of Roxboro, NC; sister, Linda Hayes of Orange County, NC; grandchildren, Brandi F. Whitt (Michael), Joshua Ferrell, Deanna Ferrell (Hannah), Caleb “Bubba” Ferrell (Morgan), and Abby DesChamps; great-grandchildren, Kam Whitt and Kyler Whitt; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Whitt. Pallbearers will be Caleb “Bubba” Ferrell, Josh Ferrell, Rudy DesChamps, Michael Whitt, Terry Wright, Andrew Christakos, and Tim Crabtree. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
