Maria Teresa Tzoumas

Maria Teresa Tzoumas (born Casillas Romero), of Durham, North Carolina, peacefully passed away at home early Monday morning, December 18, 2023 at the age of 84.

Teresa was born December 29, 1938 in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico, to the late Ignacio Casillas Huerta and Velia Romero Angulo. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Pilar Guerrero Macedo. 

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Andreas Dimitrios Tzoumas; daughter, Alexandra Andreas Tzoumas; son, Ignacio Andreas Tzoumas; brother, Ignacio Casillas Romero; sisters, Hilda Tena Arredondo and Sofia Tena Álvarez Del Castillo; in addition to a huge family of nieces and nephews and four grandchildren: Velia Veronica Webb, Richard Andreas Webb, Cassius Ignacio Tzoumas and Silas Ignacio Tzoumas.
