Louise Dickerson Crawford

Mrs. Louise Dickerson Crawford, 86, of Durham, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Mrs. Crawford was born to the late Earl and Ida Preddy Dickerson on November 19, 1939. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Carlon Burnice Crawford, Sr.; son, Gary Crawford; brothers Earl “Butch" Dickerson, Lee Dickerson, and Michael Dickerson; and sister, Lou Gentry.

Mrs. Crawford was a faithful member of Cornerstone Community Church of God for over 25 years. A devoted mother of 5, she made every effort to attend her children’s sporting events when they were young. She enjoyed going to Carolina Beach, spending time with family, and serving others through the Durham Exchange Club, where she served as a supervisor for over 25 years.

She is survived by her sons, Carlon Burnice “CB” Crawford, Jr., and John Crawford (Betty Ann); daughters Rita Crawford, and Lynn Shields (Bob); 9 grandchildren: Christopher Crawford, Bradford Crawford, Jimmy Crawford, Nicole Crawford, Savannah Crawford, Devon Kelly (Rachel), Jared Shields, Ben Shields (Kailey), and Rebekah Shields; and great-grandchild, Dean Abron Kelly.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel with a visitation being held an hour prior, starting at 1:00 p.m.
