DURHAM Mr. Leslie Wayne Nance, 71, of Durham, died on Monday, March 31, 2014.
Mr. Nance was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Robert L. Nance and Betty Porter Nance. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer serving in the U. S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War . He was employed with Budget Rental Cars. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Nance.
He is survived by his sister, Darlene Stewart and husband, James of Longs, S.C.; sister-in-law and caregiver, Ruby Nance of Durham; nephew, Wayne Nance; niece, Jennifer Stewart and great-niece, Destiny Stewart.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev Jerry Hooper will officiate. Burial will military rites will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., before the service at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ruby Nance, 634 Junction Road. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF), 1020 19th St NW, Suite 475, Washington, DC 20036.
