Laverne H. Beasley

DURHAM- Mrs. Jessie Laverne Hargis Beasley, 87, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020.

Mrs. Beasley was born on June 12, 1932 to Ralph and Maggie Hargis in Johnston County, NC. Laverne loved gardening and reading. She enjoyed going on trips to the beach. She will be lovingly remembered by her friends and family.

Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Maggie Hargis; husband, Dovil Beasley; and sisters, Frances Harper and Joyce Eason. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Smith and her husband Buster Smith.

A private graveside service will be held at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association by 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400 McLean, VA 22102.
