Larry Alan Davis

Larry Alan Davis, 69, passed away peacefully at Pegasos in Switzerland on May 19th, 2026. Larry had a heart transplant in 2015 at UNC Hospital and survived for almost 11 years. He had eight wonderful years, but in the last three years his health started to decline.

He and his partner, Jim Wright, had 23 wonderful years together and were fortunate enough to have traveled to Europe twice, which had always been a dream of his. They traveled to NYC often to see Broadway musicals and were able to to travel to Los Angles, San Francisco and Charleston, some of their favorite cities. They had a beautiful home in Greensboro where they both loved gardening and entertaining, especially Christmas parties. When Larry’s heart failure worsened, they moved to Durham to pursue a heart transplant. It was a long and hard journey.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia, on October 5, 1956. Larry attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to study Theatre Design and Production in 1975. He studied Commercial Art & Advertising Design at Guilford Technical Community College in 1979. He spent over 30 years as a Graphic Designer working for different companies in High Point and Greensboro.

Larry is survived by his loving partner Jim Wright. Also, a brother, Tony Davis (Nancy), and three sisters, Donna Davis Gooch (Rick), Debbie Atkins (Ronnie), and Dianne Davis Gooch (Donnie) and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was predeceased in death by his parents, Doris B. Davis and Joseph H. Davis and a nephew Shawn Atkins.

His ashes will be interned at Sarah P. Duke Memorial Gardens in Durham, NC.
