Katie D. Nevils

Katie D. Nevils, 70, of Durham, North Carolina peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021.  She was born on October 21, 1950 in Oxford, N.C. to the late Ephram and Lillie Deal.

Mrs. Nevils was a strong willed woman who had a deep faith for our Lord and Saviour. Katie in her spare time enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching the Andy Griffith show. She also loved to go shopping and spend time at the beach with her family. Mrs. Nevils loved her family, friends and dogs. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have known her.

Mrs. Nevils is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Randy Nevils; son, Donny “Jason” Bryant (Denise Howerton); daughter, Sherry F. Johnson (Arvin); twin sister, Carolyn Meredith (Tommy); grandchildren, Hillary Graves, Renee Johnson, Stacy Blake, Katlyn Johnson and Aubrey Johnson; great grandchildren, Emma Graves, Sophia Graves,  Grayson Blake and Mackenzie Blake who will be born in June.

Masks are required to be worn while in the funeral home and asked to be worn at the Graveside Service.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hudson Funeral Home. There will be visitation on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. prior to the 2:00 P.M. graveside service at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Greg Long will be officiating and honorably serving as Pallbearers will be Russell Allen, Travis White, Keith Blake, Arvin Johnson, Jonathan Meredith and Sam Harris.

Flowers are acceptable. The family will also receive friends at 801 Avalon Rd., Durham, NC 27704.
