Kathy L. White Hay

Kathy L. White Hay, 73, of Durham, North Carolina passed away with her children by her side on Saturday, October 4, 2025. She was born on June 29, 1952 in Newark, Ohio to the late Ira and Frances White.

Mrs. Hay earned her Real Estate Agent License in Ohio. After several years of selling homes, she decided to move to North Carolina. Upon her arrival she found herself proudly working for Duke University Hospital where she stayed for over 30 years until her retirement in 2018. She worked many years as an Administrative Staff Assistant in the Thoracic Medicine Department. She loved the patients and staff.

Kathy was a woman with many talents. She loved to crochet, lovingly creating Afghans that she would give to close friends and loved ones. Doing this made her feel like she was always giving them a hug.

Ms. Hay was also a wonderful baker. Making the best cupcakes and bringing them to the local fire department. She also enjoyed playing the guitar and was an avid reader.

Kathy loved horses and used to ride them in her younger years. She enjoyed trips to the mountains. Kathy also dearly loved her dogs, always loving on them and spoiling them. She will be remembered as a wonderful and loving mother and friend. Kathy will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have known her.

Mrs. Hay is survived by her loving daughter, Danielle Hay and son, Jerry Arnold.

A Private Service will be held at a later date.
