Karen Freeman Thompson

CREEDMOOR-  Karen Freeman Thompson, 54, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, January 7, 2021.

Karen was born on October 21, 1966 to the late Rosemary and Joe Freeman in Durham, NC. She loved to entertain, hosting holiday and family celebrations for many years in her home. The beach held a special place in Karen’s heart after spending many childhood summers at her parent’s beach house. Everyone’s best friend, Karen was known for her wicked sense of humor, ready smile and loyalty. Karen loved her family above all. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Haleigh Thompson (Jonathan) and Lauren Thompson; grandsons, Blaine Mann and Briley Mann; sister, Crystal Womble; brother, Todd Freeman; her partner, James Hummel; many treasured nieces and nephews; and her sisterhood of Ya-Ya’s.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Hudson Funeral Home Chapel.  Officiating will be George Ferguson.

Flowers are acceptable.

Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for visitation as well as the funeral service, and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building.
