Judy Ray Wright

Mrs. Judy Ray Wright, 79, of Stem, NC, passed away June 6, 2024, at Duke Medical Center.  Judy was born to the late Von Ray and Eleanor Marshall Ray in Durham, NC.

Mrs. Wright was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Mrs. Wright had a servant’s heart, always helping others in need. Judy retired from IBM after several years of employment.  After retiring from IBM, Mrs. Wright spent many years serving as a home care provider.  She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She maintained a close relationship with her nieces and nephews.   She loved her dog, Brandy.  Mrs. Wright enjoyed shopping, getting her nails done and playing solitaire on her tablet.   In later years she loved looking at pictures especially of her great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband Connie E. Wright; son, Chris T. Wright; brother James Ray; sister, Joyce Wright; grandson, Timmy Wright.

Judy is survived by her sons, S. Todd Wright and wife Renee and Kenneth E. Wright; brothers, Johnny Ray and wife Evelyn, Jerry Ray and wife Deborah; sister, Janice Harris; grandchildren, Ken Wright, Brandon Wright (Holli), Dylan Wright, Hannah Wright, Hailey Wright, Walker Wright, Sarah Long (Tyler), and Jessica Martin; great-grandchildren, Scarlett Long, Damien Wright, Jameson Wright, Leigha Wright, Jayden Wright and Braden Wright. 

A memorial service will be held Monday June 10, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Olive Branch Baptist Church, 123 Olive Branch Road, Durham.  Officiating will be Reverend Tim Wheeler. 

The family will greet friends following the memorial service.
