John G. Wesley, Jr.

John Gaither Wesley Jr., 88, died December 30, 2025, at Randolph County Hospital. Mr. Wesley was born May 26, 1937, in Wake County to the late John Gaither Wesley, Sr. and Nellie Bradley Wesley.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 8 siblings (Gaither, Jeannette, Donald, Frances, Esther, Louise, Jack and Billy).

He is survived by sons, David Wesley of Hawaii, Timothy Wesley of Garner; daughter, Kimberly Wesley Askew of Raleigh; sister, Darlene Wesley Byrd Norris of Asheboro, NC; granddaughters, Jessica Wesley Blackburn of Trinity, Courtney Askew of Clayton and Peyton Askew of Cary; great granddaughters, Evalynn and Ariel both of Trinity; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wesley grew up in Durham and lived and worked most of his life in Morrisville, North Carolina. He was a kindhearted individual who greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His favorite pastime was hunting with his Walker and Black/Tan hounds, pursuing deer, turkey, squirrels, and other game.

Prior to his 35-year career as a loading supervisor at the Koppers Wood Plant in Morrisville, Mr. Wesley used his naturally gifted carpentry skills to build homes.

A visitation will be held Tuesday January 6, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jack Holloman will officiate.

Burial will follow at Wake Forest Cemetery.
