John W. Pounds

John W. Pounds, 69, of Durham, NC passed away, Friday, December 2, 2022 at Duke Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and two beautiful daughters.

He was born March 21, 1953 in Danville, Virginia to the late Arthur Junious Pounds and Ethel Beatrice Bruce Pounds.  He was married to Dr. Judy McCain Pounds, who survives.

In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include two daughters, Belinda Pounds of Durham, NC and Sharita Pounds Williams (Rontate) of Danville, Virginia; six grandchildren, Cierra “Nick” Dixon, Cerrina Dixon, C’Yonna Pounds, Antwoin Thomas, Rontate Williams Jr., and Taylor Williams; one sister, Adriane Woodson (Herman) of Danville Virginia; five brothers, Thomas Pounds of Danville, Virginia, Charles Pounds (Mi Chong) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dale Pounds (Bertha) of Owensboro, Kentucky, Michael Pounds of Washington, DC, Alan Pounds of Danville, Virginia and a host of other relatives  and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one brother Alvin Pounds.

A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Triangle Church of Christ in Durham, NC, 2103 Page Road, Durham, NC 27703. Officiating will be Pastor Keith L. Johnson
