John Paul Walker, Sr.

DURHAM Mr. John Paul Walker, Sr., 86, of Durham, died on Friday, April 6, 2018.
Mr. Walker was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Oscar Paul Walker and Dorothy Elliott Walker. He was a retired self-employed carpenter that loved his family and NASCAR racing. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Jean Allen Walker; son, Gerald Walker and brothers, Willie Lee Walker and Garland Page Walker.
He is survived by his son, John Paul Walker, Jr. (Sandra); daughter, Pamela Kelsey (Mike) of W. VA; brothers, Charles and Tom Walker both of Durham; sisters, Alma Strickland (Bill) of Durham and Bunny Ellis (Doug) of Oxford; five grandchildren, Stephen Walker, Paul Walker, Amy Warden, David Walker, Brandon Harris and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 3 to 5 p.m. and on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at his home.
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pastor Gary Stewart will officiate.
