John Leo Haner, 76, passed away on May 13, 2026, in Durham, NC. Born on December 31, 1948, John was a proud son of Mary Catherine and Melvin Miller. He grew up alongside his siblings, including his sister Betsy (Jerry)Dillion of Lamar, CO, and his late brother Fred Romine.
He attended Whitehall High School, and he went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army from 1968 to 1974. After his Military service, he worked diligently throughout his career before retiring to enjoy life’s simpler pleasures.
John’s life was enriched by his love for motorcycles, traveling, and spending time at the beach. He had a deep affection for animals.
Left to cherish his memory, he shared 36 yrs. with his beloved, Debbie Neumoff. Above all, John was a devoted father to his children: Angela (Michael) Eads, Shane (Liz) Haner, Katherine (Johann) Worch, and Jessica (Darrell) Lee. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Peyton and Sydney Eads, Shane Jr., Mary Haner, and David. Eric Worch, and Ashton, Mason, MaKenzie, Bella, Riley, and those who knew him as a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the family home on June 12, 2026, at 2 p.m., located at 7577 Pateo Pass Dr., Blacklick, Ohio. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend. For further information or inquiries, please contact the family at 614-778-1227 or 561-504-8760.
