Joan Harris Rich

DURHAM- Mrs. Joan Harris Rich, 78, passed away, Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Rich was born April 2, 1942 to the late Howard and Sarah “Louvanie” Harris in Durham, NC. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church of God. Mrs. Rich loved her church and family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading her bible and singing in church. Mrs. Rich will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Rich is preceded in death by her son, Sandy G. Rich, Jr.; parents, Howard and Sarah “Louvanie” Harris; brothers, Larry “Buck” Harris, Leroy Harris and Benny Harris.

Mrs. Rich is survived by her husband, Sandy Rich, Sr.; daughters, Tammy Hill (Paul) of Creedmoor, Angela Bailey of Durham; sisters, Delores “Lois” Williams (Bobby), Christine Thompson (Ernest); grandchildren, Joe Rich (Amy) of Cary, Stephen Fossa (Chris) of Rhode Island, Jason Chavis of Durham, Alyssa Bailey of Durham, Dakota Bailey (Brittany) of Creedmoor; great-grandchildren, Calie Arrington, Savannah Chavis, Colt Rich and Cheyenne Rich.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held two hours prior from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dr. Devon Blanton. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
