Jasper Hamner Taylor, Jr.

Jasper Hamner Taylor, Jr., 75, of Durham, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on August 4th, 2024. Mr. Taylor was born in Durham County, NC on October 7, 1948, to the late Jasper Hamner Taylor, Sr., and Mary Harper Taylor. 

Mr. Taylor is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Faye Rogers Taylor; sons, Jasper H. Taylor III of Durham, Jeffrey T. Taylor of Durham and Jonathan H. Taylor of Vancouver, Canada; grandchildren, Hayleigh Taylor and Ava Taylor; brother, Danny Taylor and wife Tanya; sisters, Betty Hamilton and Jean Westfall and husband Ray.

Jasper was employed with GTE / Verzion for over 30 years as a Computer Programmer. He enjoyed target shooting, camping, fishing, and tending to his garden with his tractor. He was regularly active in his church, Plainview Baptist, where he served as a greeter, Deacon, and choir member. He also volunteered his time to help build wheelchair ramps for home bound neighbors in the Redwood Community. 

A funeral service will be held Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Plainview Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Bob Kerr.

A private burial will follow.

Pallbearers will be George Woods, Andy Sorrell, Rick Pareis, Steve Rigsbee, David Pennell and William Drake.
