Janette Starr Gornto

DURHAM Mrs. Janette Starr Gornto, 84, of Durham, died on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
Mrs. Gornto was born in Ft. Madison, Iowa, the daughter of the late Floyd James Starr and Cecilia Katherine Humm Starr. She retired after 32 years with Crum and Forster Insurance Company. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church and was active in the Mt. Sylvan UMC Senior Group. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Gornto; brother, Floyd Starr, Jr. and her sister, Katherine C. Cone.
She is survived by a sister, Dorothy V. Carlon of Gowrie, IA. and her special companion, her dog Bella.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Larry Bowden will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com
