DURHAM-Mr. James Oscar Johnson, 74, died on Sunday, June 5, 2011. He was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Pearlie Johnson and Addie Alston Johnson. He was a painter and owner of Oscar Johnson’s Paint Co. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Johnson, 1 son, James Aubrey “Jimmy” Johnson, 1 step-son, Douglas Kelly Pittman, 2 daughters, Elizabeth Oakley and Teresa E. Riggan, 15 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at South Granville Memorial Gardens. Speaker will be Robert Wilkins.
