James Darrell Hathcoat

DURHAM Mr. James Darrell Hathcoat, 53, of Durham, died on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
Mr. Hathcoat served in the U. S. Army for 8 years in Telecommunications. Serving in Desert Storm, he received multiple honors and citations including the Joint Service Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal. He was a member of Lowes Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis Wendell Hathcoat and Reta Sue Fraizer.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Staring Hathcoat of 16 years; his girlfriend, Carol Kinsey; daughter, Julia Nelson of New Mexico; brother, Mark Hathcoat of Snyder, Tex., sister, Danna Long of Oklahoma; aunts, Lou, Rosie, Mildred Hathcoat; two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held in New York at a later date.
